AN OLD STORY

Some time ago, probably by the end of the seventies, the first superhero comic-book arrived to my young hands. I clearly remember the feelings I had when I started to read those pages. I automatically fell in love with the characters, the concepts, the costumes. It was my very first introduction to the superheroes and to he DC Universe.

I'm sorry to say that the spanish edition of that book was really a mess. A lot of years later, I discovered that it had the colors changed and that they even lost a page from the story. That was when I found that the issue was really Justice League of America #104. And, as is commonly said, my life wouldn't be the same again.

The book had everything: a funny script, great art by legendary Dick Dillin, terrible villains, Hector Hammond and the Shaggy Man that almost defeated the League alone, and one amazing roster in the powerful team.

And, as a plus, I had the introduction to one of the most famous love and hate relationships in comic-book history: Hawkman and Green Arrow. Batman, the brain of the team, has the brilliant idea of putting together Katar and Oliver in the satellite headquarters cleaning session. A decission that only could led to disaster. Hace ya algún tiempo, probablemente a finales de los años setenta, el primer comic de superhéroes llegó a mis jóvenes manos. Recuerdo claramente las sensaciones que tuve cuando empecé a leer aquellas páginas. Me enamoré de forma automática de los personajes, de los conceptos, de los disfraces. Fue mi primera introducción al mundo de los superhéroes y al Universo DC

Lamento decir que la edición española de aquel cómic era un desastre. Muchos años después descubrí que habían cambiado los colores y que incluso habían omitido una página del episodio. Todo ello sucedió cuando descubrí que el tebeo era en realidad el Justice League of America #104. Y, como se suele decir, mi vida nunca volvería a ser la misma.

El cómic lo tenía todo: un guión divertido, un estupendo dibujo del legendario Dick Dillin, terribles villanos, Hector Hammond y el Hombre Peludo, que casi derrotan ellos sólos a la Liga, y una alineación increíble del poderoso equipo.

Y, de regalo, me fue presentada una de las más famosas historias de amor-odio de la historia del cómic americano: Hawkman y Flecha Verde. Batman, el supuesto cerebro del equipo, tiene la brillante idea de formar equipo con Katar y Oliver en la sesión de limpieza del cuartel general en el satélite.
